Claudio Di Meo

Claudio Di Meo is an award-winning conductor, pianist and composer, internationally recognised for his work in orchestral and choral music, noted for clarity, integrity and dynamic interpretation. Trained in Italy and the UK, he has won major conducting prizes in London and Italy and is an ardent exponent of Sibelius’s music.

He performs widely across Europe, Asia and the Americas, and is particularly known for his work with choirs, founding the Lumina Choir and conducting major orchestral / choral works alongside a cappella repertoire. He also specialises in Italian film music and musical theatre, with credits as both composer and music director.

Committed to education, he holds principal conducting roles with several UK orchestras and is highly skilled in developing the talents of young performers.

David Smith

David is passionate about performing great masterpieces of the orchestral repertoire, and has a particular specialism in British orchestral music. He has worked with many orchestras in London and the south of England as a guest conductor, including Aylesbury Symphony Orchestra, Fulham Symphony Orchestra and London Repertoire Orchestra.

He read Music and a Masters in Musicology at the University of Southampton, where his tutors included David Owen Norris and Michael Finnissy. He has studied conducting with Robin Browning and Denise Ham.

Away from conducting, David is Director of Assessment Services at ABRSM (the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), a junior cricket coach and a lapsed trombonist and timpanist!
